| From an email received on Christmas day: "If you tried, you couldn't have found a more depressing Christmas scene. Thanks for making me feel miserable." Filmbrain certainly didn't mean to put a damper on anybody's holiday cheer, but this scene from the conclusion of Jacques Demy's Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg) is a bit of a heartbreaker. For those unfamiliar with this most perfect of musicals, add it to your must-see list -- just keep the tissues handy. Sticking with the holiday theme, here is a painfully easy New Year's themed shot from a film everybody knows. This one is a gift -- starting next week things will get more difficult. Send your answer to the final 2004 quiz to this address. Good luck, and Happy New Year to all! |
