No, this post isn't going to contain a link to the Chloe Sevigny blowjob scene. While we're on the subject, please stop emailing Filmbrain with requests for it. He doesn't have it. (Get that, JoJo the Chimp?)Filmbrain heard through the grapevine that Vincent Gallo recently held a private screening here in NYC for friends and potential distributors. Word has it that if he doesn't get distribution soon, he will pull the film out of the public eye forever. This would be a tragedy. Though Filmbrain has yet to see the film, he's not letting some bad press squelch his desire. How could the director of Buffalo '66 possibly turn out something less than genius? (End sycophantic rave.) Gallo held a press conference back in September of 2003 in Tokyo. The text of the Vincent Garo [sic] (now can we stop accusing Sofia of being racist?) conference is online, but only in Japanese. Worth checking out just to see the rare photos of Vincent smiling -- one of which is shown here on the right. Quite a different face than we saw at Cannes -- he clearly likes the Japanese more than the French. Then there is the trailer. Fans of Buffalo '66 will remember that the two and a half minute trailer was practically a film unto itself. No cloying narration, no snippets of dialog, just scenes from the film cut to Heart of the Sunrise by Yes. It was. . .perfect. Well, he's done it again with the trailer to The Brown Bunny. Same idea as before, though here he uses a split-screen effect (very 70's) and the song is Milk and Honey by Jackson C Frank. (Filmbrain is familiar with the Nick Drake version, but never realized it was a cover.) You can view the trailer here. WARNING: Contains some Chloe nudity, so probably not safe for work. (Streaming 500K .asx file -- occasionally the server is very slow.) Filmbrain has a local copy (9 megs) -- if interested, drop him an email. | ![]() ![]() |

You are absolutely right: The Brown Bunny is a great film (the short version, at least, which I know).
